Solved someone’s compile error on a C++ forum last night, and was fortunate enough for my explanation to be the first response (a beginner’s mistake).
And today, I’ve pointed out the cause of someone’s bug in a html/js forum. (Haven’t actually fixed it for them, as he is a big boy who can (I presume) work out how to fix the bug himself.)
So that’s good karma, and makes me feel better about myself :-)
Techy questions on the net generally fall into one of two categories:
- Easy enough that someone else has already answered it.
- Difficult or tedious enough that I’m not willing to put the effort in.
It’s nice when a couple come along in the middle :-)
